Wow, it's so great to see all the efforts that were put into this web site! It looks really great!
Back in the day, I created the ICDIA web site. Amongst others, I wrote the CD-i FAQ, created the hardware overviews, collected the downloadable documents and wrote many articles. I ran and maintained the site for many years. After Devin took over the web site some years ago, I learned that CD-i Fan is now responsible for the site. That was fantastic news! Who better than this overly skilled CD-i developer and enthousiast to do so?
A bit about me: in the early 90s I got involved with CD-i in my mid-teens due to my father working at Philips Media in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, where CD-i hardware/software/dev products were being developed and marketed. I got into contact with many of the great minds behind CD-i, and through them acquired a lot of information and learned everything there was to learn about CD-i. I read the Green Book as bed time literature : ) A couple of friends and I even created our own CD-i titles (mostly animations and jokes about tech and other formats, nowadays we would call them "memes") on the authoring equipment that I got - I still have a CD-i disc that collects most of that stuff.
Later, in my twenties in the 2000s, I officially started working for Philips at the Standards department, where I worked on the introduction of the DVD+RW, Super Audio CD and Blu-ray formats. I very much remained a believer of optical disc standards! I worked there until about 10 years ago. But to this day, I am still involved in standardisation, now mostly focused at IoT-standards like Zigbee and Thread.
Anyway... It is very cool to see that there is still so much enthusiasm for CD-i. And it is truly exciting to see the work on the emulators (something we thought was never possible, I even wrote as much in Q9.2 of the FAQ ;P )
I very much look forward to see where things are going in the future. I will keep an eye on the site and its forum. Also: Keep me posted if truly interesting stuff is happing or if I can be of any help. Good luck to you all! Interactive forever!
